What does mermaids eat?

Isn't it weird that there's no regular kelp for mermaids to eat though? :p

thank you all! it is odd because i gave my mermaid some cooked tuna from one of the stands and he din´t like it, he is no vegetarian so i thought that he would eat raw fish or seaweed. Last thing i thought i would make him a cheese sandwich lover!
