What does Practice Make Perfect actually do?

    I saw the “Practice Makes Perfect” trait explained as follows:

    By default Sims with the trait will learn all skills at 50% speed.  However, by continuously practicing a single category (Creative, Social, Physical or Mental), they can up the speed of skill gain to 90%, 130%, 160%, and even 180%.  But, once the Sim stops practicing, the buff that the trait gives will start to decay.  The Sim’s practice progress will be checked daily, if no bugs occur.  So, a Sim needs to practice each category every day to keep the skill boost for that category.  Otherwise, the Sim’s skill rate will eventually drop back to 50%.

A Sim with this trait can take long, thoughtful walks and take soothing showers. I love it. So far, I've given it to my now very young Global Superstar. Mind you, I have no idea if the Trait is what carried him to this top level of fame, but this isn't his first rodeo. I've played this Sim multiple times in brand new saves, so that he must attain his fame each time. Prior to this Trait, the best he could do to achieve five stars of fame, was in 15 Sim days. This time, brace yourself, he did it in just five, count 'em 5 Sim days! I was floored to say the least.

Mind you, I have no definitive proof if the Trait is responsible for this incredible race to fame, but there you have it. But wouldn't it be fun to know?
