Count me in with the previous posters who mentioned Paralives and Paradox. I’m already a Patreon patron of Paralives, and I will happily drop full game money on preorder from what I’ve seen so far. Some of my favorite games these days are from small indie developers who only have one or two titles, and I’m happy to support Alex Masse. Paradox makes one of my favorite games, Crusader Kings, which I probably play far more than I do Sims 4. Especially with Rod Humble who was at the helm for my favorite iteration of the Sims. Needless to say, I’m very excited. I hope one (or both) of these studios can give me what I really want in a game-some more maturity and consequences and actual gameplay that I don’t have to imagine or force every time. I want a GAME, where things happen in response to my action or inaction, not a digital photo/video creator like the Sims is becoming these days. Then Sims can stay the safe space/storytelling only/online thing it’s trying to be.
