Seeing the vast limitations of The Sims 4 and how lackluster its DLC is ($40 for a cat and dog vs Sims 3 Pets is sad). Any future missing DLC from previous entries will not be at all great. I say if we get Seasons it will be weather only and limited to a new neighborhood. For University it will be fade off the lot like Sims 2 University where we live at home and just 'go to school' like work in the base game. Also they said there may not be a Sims 5 and with EA's "Games as a service" motto over the years (look at how well that ended up for Star Wars Battlefront 2) we will not see a major title in The Sims series again most likely. Instead they will move on to make a new Sims Online. Where you pay 99 cents here and there to level up your skills and buy new chairs for your house.
I'm telling you, they want Sims as a mobile game. Just look at history and look at how many times they've attempted to make Sims a mobile game or some other similar platform. (facebook game) Any 3rd party viewer can look at history and say "yeah, people don't buy Sims mobile games," but EA looks at it and just sees dollar signs. They repeatedly do this with all their titles, too. Either they try and expand it to mobile or find some way to make it pay-to-play.
They're still attempting to sell Sims as a mobile game, and I would not be surprised if a major update for the new mobile game coincides with the end of Sims 4.
