As you can see, ultra without the post prcessing effects, I find them somewhat ugly :D - Feisbukaite8 years agoSeasoned AceSims high, the rest on medium for now. I'm getting gaming laptop, can't wait to play on ultra settings.

Ultra. Game is very well optimized. My card's fan never spins up, even with other applications running.
It's probably more a case of using quite simple graphics compared to other dx9 titles: - Ultra with uncompressed sim textures and without post processing effects. I don't like the blur.
- Goth5838 years agoSeasoned AceUltra, but I clicked the laptop mode to help it run better on my PC. Without laptop mode on I'd play on medium.

Laptop mode actually helps a lot cuz it takes away moving shadows and nice rendering of your sims.
Good to know! I don't know why it didn't make a noticeable effect on my PC. It may have been because I already had all the other graphics options turned down or off. - Ultra on everything, and I'm on a laptop... I love my little HP!

The reason it performs better than TS3 is the relatively small (let's face it, tiny) size of its "zones", where the data that needs to be loaded into RAM/VRAM and requires processing by the CPU/GPU is a fraction of what it was in TS3's open neighborhoods.
They made concessions because the engine couldn't handle what they were throwing at it.- OEII10018 years agoSeasoned Ace

They can, but not all of them do. GTAV and The Witcher 3, for instance, perform very well even on mid-range systems.
