Hi everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the new forum so far. I know I am!! I'm Charla, a big fan of The Sims 4! ☺️ I was going to join on the old one, but, as it only had a week left I decided to wait until today.
I loved lurking on the what happened in your game today thread so I thought would create a new one here.
So what's happened in your game today?
Today in my game I was playing as a character I created, Lauren Lord. She's an young adult, who dreams of being an author and a mom. Currently she's working as a school teacher, but today she had no work, she stayed at home and played chess and tended to her plants (when it wasn't raining!).
I also made this new Sim :) hope the pic works!

Today was sunday (ingame ofc), we relaxed. And i did a little research on horses, horse breeds and various other details to make my game more interesting, also more accurate when it comes to coat colors etc. I cant believe how im eating this stuff up ! So i did a search on Silver Surfers' breed which i made a Lipizzaner after reading a bit about their history, i learned that this breed traces back to the "Habsburg Empire in the sixteenth century. It is of Baroque type, and is powerful, slow to mature and long-lived" (wikipedia) so guess what; i renamed my ranch HABSBURG and also i learned about geopolitical history of Eastern Europe ...
It is a great that playing The Sims is leading you onto research various things and learn new things about historyLe_Slacker 🙂 It is nice that your ranch is now called Habsburg.
I am returning after a 4 year hiatus from Sims as I finally got a new laptop that can at least somewhat handle games. Boy have I missed simming. I'm normally a Sims 3 gal but ALL my backups somehow vanished my last hope is to fight my old laptop to recover it off of there. My mind just doesn't want to go there right now. So I'm just chilling in Sims 4 enjoying being back to any form of sims after so long. My game has been a little unhinged and I'm having the time of my life right now, I have missed this SO much.
Also apparently I keep forgetting to take screenshots, I'm a little rusty at all this but hey at least I remembered how now it's just remembering to press the dang button sometimes. May have a lot of text though.
So we have Roxanne and Elias, they got married. Had their first child. All was well.
Until... the happy couple went on a hot date to the gym. Elias to shed the weight he gained as he put on more weight during Roxanne's pregnancy than she did. Roxanne just to be with her man and get out of the house and away from the baby. The gym was fine. It was when they got home and the babysitter wouldn't leave. For several DAYS, there was no option to make her leave she just kept hanging around it was super weird.
Then I realize she's the maid. Nobody hired a maid. It's a little creepy but okay.
I just roll with it the house is mess with a new baby around and she does keep the place nice and tidy (I had thought it was weird a babysitter would clean so much).
Elias and the maid start having an affair. Every day when Roxanne goes to work they canoodle on the couch, or worse in Roxanne's bed (Elias is a barely working freelance programmer make no mistake that house and everything in it is hers).
Roxanne soon falls pregnant with their 2nd child. She gives birth alone and goes to find her husband afterwards... he was making out with the maid on the couch. Busted.
The maid is Eliza Pancakes, btw, so Roxanne does the first thing she can thing of... calls up her friend and Eliza's husband, Bob, for a little revenge.
Elias becomes so angry at Roxanne cheating (excuse me, sir?) that he has a cardiac explosion (I'm sorry... what? Sims 4 hello were you always this dramatic?) and dies. Roxanne tries to plead with the Grim Reaper to save Elias (girl... why?) but it's no use he's gone for good (because how does one come back from a cardiac EXPLOSION?!).
Eliza still wouldn't leave even after all this. Roxanne is beyond devastated and heart broken in so many ways. And Eliza has the nerve to waltz around the place like nothing happened. Now Roxanne is literally a queen, most of the time she doesn't act like one, but she may have used her powers as ruler of these lands to have Eliza dealt with. You can use your imagination on how but she's definitely gone from Roxanne's home for good.
It is great that you have a new laptop and are back to playing and enjoying simming againDreamerz13 🙂 It is not good that you lost your Sims 3 backups. I hope that you will be able to recover them one day.
rosemow , thank you 😊 It was rare to see only Rahmi, usually Thomas is always there, now no sight of him 🙃
BlueSeaWaves and DaniRose2143 , really my henford has full of resident villagers, PLUS about 10 homeless to set up as villagers (home regions) too, but so far those two were the helpers 😄
luciusstorm , the cow, now named as Ruusa , was so kind to Rashidah from the beginning, chickens are more mean.
