I have animal aging unchecked which I understand means off.
I use Disable Cottage Living Animal Aging Fix by LittleMsSam from the bandom bug fixes sections of her site. "Disabling Aging for Cottage Living Animals in Game Options Other does not always seem to work, so i stop the Aging Decay within this Fix."
It's for cottage living animals not sure if mini goats and sheep are covered.
For cats, dogs, and horses I use MCCC to flag them as immortal.
