Something that I have always loved to do here on the forums is to read about what has happened in other peoples game. I know there is a thread with the same name on The Sims 3 and did find one on The Sims 4 but the last update on that thread was in December so I thought it would be fun with a new fresh thread where you can tell us all about what happened in your game. So let's begin!
I started to play with the Pancakes family today and they have some serious issues in my game. Eliza is pregnant with their first child is always yelling at poor Bob who is doing the best that he can to support his family, when he's not at work he is always doing things to get closer a promotion. Even though Eliza is always complaining when she's around Bob he is always complimenting her and flirts with her. They doesn't woohoo that often but when they do it is in Eliza's bed and when they are done he always goes back to his own bed and sleeps there. Eliza is often at the gym and still unemployed and is trying to become friends with Bella Goth and Nancy Landgraab. She has also started an affair with Nancys husband, Geoffrey Landgraab.
Umm Lemon Meringue pie, my favorite! I just can't begin to imagine drinking lemonade after eating the pie! Just enough sweetness in a good Lemon Meringue Pie to cause the lemonade to be extra sour. While some thought Erik was simply too busy all of the time to be engaged with his children, they were quite wrong. His thoughts were often consumed with his offspring. He noticed, for instance, just how hard Jamison was working. He admired how his firstborn had stood on principal which led to his leaving Llama Studios. Erik congratulated him on it. He did worry that the youth was giving up his dream which made the father sad. He was very glad to learn Jamison had resolved his problems with the industry. He simply found his way into the world of the Independant Studios. Jamison's sheer talent, alone, was opening doors.
If Erik could find a way, he was hoping to create an independent academy of sorts, to offer awards to this group. They deserved recognition, and not simply at the box office which had no complaints. Ticket sales were through the roof. The Indie group had cornered a much-neglected market. Erik was proud his son was partly responsible for this.

Andrew was working hard at his studies. Seemed the second term was always the hardest, at least for Erik and Kayleigh it was true. At that time, they were very much wanting to finish their schooling so that they could begin their life together. Andrew managed despite his lackadaisical manner to earn a GPA of A+ for his first term, proving he was no slouch. He asked for little help, except for an opinion on his presentation board, but did take it personally whenever the Britechester Bats lost their soccer game. In that way he reminded his father of Aaron. The Bats did well at the top of the term, but then suffered a series of losses toward the end.

Sadly, by having them suppress their emotions, they are less likely to get on with the full humans that surround them at school. I think it depends on My current story is sim-driven so I didn't start with a set storyline. So I snap as I go and fit it into what I have currently. but I may need to adopt your way a bit going forward

That was a mod grossly malfunctioning. Happily, I'd seen it once before, a very long time ago, but the rolling gear, I failed to capture was a dead giveaway. I quickly replaced the mod.

Personally, I'll usually play for a little while, with my storyline in mind, but then I'll go back and re-shoot a scene if I find I didn't get the pictures I wanted. I keep several alternate saves, labeled as Second Unit, Third Unit, etc. for these re-shoots.
This is from a "re-shoot" that I did this afternoon because I discovered I didn't actually have the pictures I wanted to lead into the scene I want to write.

I generally wish I had the picture I forgot to snap, however, I mostly use words where there are no pictures. But that's just me.
@luciusstorm I spend a lot of time doing both methods. Rapid screenshot captures of live action, but if that doesn't get me the shot I want I completely restage the scene until I get what I want. Lots of post production in Gimp for effects and colour balance as well.
@luciusstorm Every chapter I've ever written has at least one photo that was added at the last minute or close to it. I can't remember one where I didn't at least get one. I'm getting ready to go get a handful of closeup shots of Allegra and Venessa as they watch the Accolades on the night they met. I started out using the screenshots I got from gameplay only. Then I started getting into relying entirely on poses. Poses make for awesome screenshots but depending on the scene they can grind things to a halt. I made the decision to go back to relying on the screenshots I get in game. Look for shots that fit what you've written or take what you have written and make small edits to match the best picture you have.
I wouldn't waste too much time and energy chasing the perfect screenshot. I'd do a quick chat with them around the table and see what the game gives you the second time around.
