What happened to Mila Munch's children's father?

My back story was that the dad divorced her for another woman and then died. I didn't put two and two together that Mila could be behind it.

I just played her out as a frumpy old mother while her sons grew up. Gunther's daughter, Greta, bears some resemblance so I definitely say they are her biological kids. She was friends with Clara Bjergsen, both of whom were left by their husbands and liked being independent mothers.

You all have me beat with the pies and the affairs. I did not put that much thought into her.
