I really enjoy Plumbella. She's very fair and never hesitates to say what she really thinks. Her survey idea was great, I wish that I had known about it while it was ongoing.
It's too bad that EA hasn't done something similar. Going by what I've seen of EA surveys, the company seems to be more concerned with how the community views EA's community outreach than how the community views the game. That is very odd in itself. If they would conduct surveys to see how they're doing as far as the program itself, they might get an idea of where they need to improve.
Goodness knows, they've all but abandoned the forums, so surveys may be a way of them getting the impressions that they need in a more concise way.
I like her too, I like her honesty and her sense of humour. EA have released another survey quite recently. It’s the exact same survey they released a few months before, that was the exact same survey they released before that.
How likely are you to recommend the sims 4 to a friend or family member (rate between 1 and 10)
What does the Guru team do well?
How can we improve maxis monthlies?
How would you rate the communication between the devs and the player base? (Rate 1-10)
What would you rather see more of?
Stuff packs
Game packs
Expansion packs
Free updates to the base game
Bug fixes
They won’t do a survey like Plumbella’s because I believe they don’t care enough. They are probably quite content that game play is not rated the best feature of the game and that lack of depth is the number one disliked reason about the game. Because it’s selling, people are happy with pretty graphics and making pretty sims.
The fact they repeat the same bloody surveys every few months with the exact same questions shows where their priorities lie.
