What happened to your Willow Creek?

This oldest world is still my main world, I renamed it "Gloomville" and in most households lives descendants of the sim couples I moved in back in 2014. When making the Gloomville episode of my "One Year in my Worlds" movie series, I realized that I only aged the households one generation, although playing massively for periods. A few of my original adults are still around as elders.

Like I normally do, the hoods have various status, like the porch distict Upperton, the average Willow Field, and the poorer quarter Muggerdale. I wish the game would allow naming hoods, then we would all have a certain reference even if we renamed them. The small but obviously very wealthy hood (top left on map) I never played. I currently plan rebuilding both lots there, adding more community stuff.

I still love this world and I think it's beautiful with the Seasons EP. The park area behind the commercial area, the river and channels all adds some dynamic. Most of what I like is gathered in the movie below.

Did you rename the world in the game and if so, how?

No, unfortunately. I don't think we can rename worlds, but I wish we could.

One of the things I miss from the creating a neighborhood option from The Sims 2.

@elanorbreton Loved the scout camp added! I wanted to have a scout club, but it was too much hassle with the uniform so I created a kid's nature club instead who will mainly visit Granite Falls. Might adjust that later though :)

I downloaded that one, it's totally awesome. My scout kids have a scout club with the uniform set for them to wear at gatherings, but unfortunately if they visit the Lot during hot or cold weather they will wear their hot or cold clothing instead of the club uniform :(

If you don't object to mods, there is a modder at MTS that has a way of renaming Sims 4 neighborhoods to Sims 3 towns.

Edit to say, just went through MTS and the modder must have taken it down...sorry to say.

  • @elanorbreton oh that looks really nice it's weird I've used that section you have called Riverview for commercial so long I really never thought to place houses there instead. I like the scout camp too.

I guess I don't make many large changes just add a few things here and there mostly I've changed the main park there I should do more with the towns ha. I play in it so much just got used to how it looks I guess.
  • Willow Creek is still my main residential world. Newcrest is set aside as my 'downtown' world where all the larger community lots were moved to from Willow Creek. Oasis Springs is where my Sims start their lives, complete with the bowling alley, a rundown cafe and tiny homes in dire need of renovations. After saving their Simoleans my families move to Willow Creek. Magnolia Promenade is a very beautiful world with the paddle boats and the lighthouse and I wish the teams had seen fit to add three or four more building lots to it. Currently, I have two households there. It is spectacular in the winter. San Myshuno is a destination spot where my Sims go to party and attend the festivals. Brindleton Bay is also a place my Sims visit but I have no one living there because of the strays. I recently found a mod that eliminates strays but I haven't tried it out yet. If it works and I don't see sick, dirty, hungry and sad strays everywhere I may move one of my families there to experience what that world has to offer.

Willow Creek has always been my favorite world and after I moved all the community lots to Newcrest I believe there are twenty-one lots now that can house families. Each little neighborhood has a unique view that Seasons has enhanced. And after all the two and three-story homes were bulldozed I was amazed at how much the views opened up. The smaller lots that lack yard space for greenhouses or family activities with a house placed on it are now small venues like a coffeehouse, a bakery and one day soon I will add a florist shop. A couple of those smaller lots are niche parks. One is for kids and toddlers, one is a training area for pets and I plan to turn one of those into a community garden once I hone my greenhouse building abilities. After chasing down all the plants for the last few years I am looking forward to having one place where my Sims can go to find what they need to complete their gardening collections.
  • @elanorbreton I love the look of your Willow Creek. It is lovely. <3
