Looking how the Sims 4 environment is set up Imho adding cars would be implausible for there are multiple loading screens and I say to myself why bother. Anyway at this point I say why bother when they will not add other features that would matter. No matter what EA/Maxis add at this point means nothing to me for the joy and fun is gone for me.
They added cars to Sims 2 when it seemed pretty pointless because of the loading screens. I'm meh on cars at this point -- there are other features that I'd prefer take priority -- but if they do it, fine.
What features that you want that would help return the "joy and fun" to your gameplay? And would you be okay if some of those features came in paid DLC rather than in free patches?
Actually, there would be an difference between Sims 2 and Sims 4. In Sims 2 you had one loading screen versus multiple screens in Sims 4 if EA/Maxis does it the way I am envisioning it, I do not mind one loading screen. I would love to see terrain editor tools, neighborhood creation tools and lot creation tools. It is not just the matter of paid DLC which I would not pay for being it was included in Sims 3, it is up to the engine and if it is not possible then for me Sims 4 has peaked and at this stage I see no earth breaking features coming. Sims 4 did not evolve as other games in an series evolved meaning they use new features along with old features and not too many old features was cut. Sims 4 was the opposite it sort of evolved backwards and majority of the features was cut. Even if they do add cars or transportation it is not enough for me.
