For me cars in Sims 2 are far from pointless, but I think that has a lot to do with the fact the teleporting in Sims 4 really bothers me (where it doesn’t bother others so I presume there lies the difference in opinion here). My sim lives in Forgotten Hollow and I was so pleased to discover I could actually send here to a plasma tree behind Vlad’s house while still being able to play her sister at home. Such things matter to me. And I would have even liked it better if she could have used at least a bike for that.
