Fan just means "fanatic", doesn't it? So, if you're a fan of something, it just means you really, really like it. I don't think there are any rules or regulations to qualify, lol. I'm a fan of Tolkien's works and Vampire: The Masquerade...I love to talk about those things and immerse in them. The same goes for The Sims games that I like (TS2 and TS4). I don't always think of the things I love in terms of "fandom" necessarily, I'm more inclined to refer to myself as a "player" because I play the game, but in this context, yeah, I guess you could say I'm a "fan". :)
