Caleb Vatore been somewhat tamed by his scientist hubby Sim Fitzpatrick. They live together in an aggressively luminous modern house, a blot on the Forgotten Hollow landscape, opposite his old home.

Caleb is an excellent photographer and a professional chef, and was cured of his vampirism. Yet some say those old urges may return, should he ever become dissatisfied with domesticity. Vlad is long-dead, and there are few real vamps in the neighbourhood. One day they may come a-knocking.
