The Origin Access membership fee is charged as a recurring, monthly payment.

For this monthly fee you get access to all available games to play.

You do not own the games. More like rent to play.

Some games you can only play for a limited time before they are released to the general public. This is called first play.

thanks for the comment, I do appreciate it
this was the only option. when I clicked on get the game, it asked me to upgrade my account from basic to premier for the game pack
I don't understand this upgrade, I own all my other sims games. I just wanted to buy a game pack, not rent one.

Then there was either something you missed or something went wrong, because you shouldn't need to join the program to buy anything. I never have and I've bought all my sims games from Origin.

I just click on get the game. there was only 2 options. to upgrade account from basic or premier. no option to buy the game
