From what I’ve experienced so far, I like the party and activity aspects that was added in Sims 3 University better than the actual university part of the pack, the keg alone is great plus all those other recreational activities. I find the pack to be a lot more enjoyable when you’re not dedicating all your time trying to earn your degree. Have some down time, throw parties, get into trouble, take on the social groups jobs and dares from the job board, there’s a lot of really cool and unique opportunities, however you may not earn your degree as quickly. I guess it’s difficult to put a good balance on the education aspect and the social aspects that were added with the pack. I haven’t played through all of the different degrees yet, and each degree has some pretty cool stuff, I’m really interested in trying out the science degree, there seems to be a lot of cool opportunities with that degree, especially with the new science skill. I just wish that the pack added degree exclusive careers instead of just adding boosts to existing careers, it makes the careers really easy to progress through.
Edit:
I should add, I really don’t like how easy it is to make money when you’re part of a fraternity or sorority, you can literally grab any inventory based object and place it in your inventory to claim it as your own, or sell it, the one sorority my sim was apart of had a $50,000 car with it, there was nothing stopping me from selling the thing. Plus you can easily go into Build/Buy mode to modify the sorority house however you like, and everything you buy and sell affects your sims household funds. You can sell everything in the house and then drop out of university and you’ll be good to go for a life time. Why need a degree when you can just make a fortune by selling your entire sorority house?
