What is this orb?

I saw this when my child would come home from school with an A. It is a sun and a rainbow. It sits above the child sims head and is really cute. I don't have a picture unfortunately. For a teen it is embedded in their chest, so you just see the sun. I would call that a bug :)

I feel like I'm just going to repeat a post from above, but with my personal experience they're from a lot trait. I think what's supposed to happen is little "icons" are supposed to come out of the orb, at least that's what I've seen, so just a plain single orb without icons might just be the entire orb didn't load.

Your sims are living near good school. In the other words, "Good Schools" lot trait is the reason to this. I have seen this too. Child (or teen) gets a confident moodlet and then this orb appears with rainbow. Rainbow disappears and only orb (sun) will stay. After confident moodlet is gone, the orb is too.

Did your sim recently go to the jungle and explore at all? I have one and its a blessing of personal sun

As this thread is going to be closed (it's 2 years or more old), I can't make more questions here. So I'll present something that I can think of.
The only thing I can think of is that these are caused by aliens to attract sims to that spot. Usually, if you see these, one of your sim is going to be abducted by aliens unless their path to these orbs are closed. If your sim gets abducted by aliens, they will return after some time, but if your sim is male, they may become pregnant after that.
If you have Get to Work expansion pack, that may be possible. If you do not, I don't know the answer...
