That's an easy answer for me.
My main game changer is the Vampires pack. I was really slugging along with the game for a while, trying to find interest and getting frustrated with the mundane, "real life" packs because I wanted more fantasy, fear, or unconventional things. This made me start posting on the forums for the first time and I joined every discussion I could find on Supernaturals and Vampires. I made a lot of suggestions and requests while I tried to keep my patience in check. There were some things I found in packs that gave me happiness, and I had CC and mods, but I always felt like my personal play preferences were being neglected. While everyone else asked for Toddlers, I asked for Vampires. My game continued to feel like it lacked excitement. But then it happened .....Vampires! And the pack actually included almost everything I had asked for! The only thing that it was missing was Sim Fear. But I was so excited and overwhelmed that it didn't matter because I never thought they'd give me the exact things I asked for. I had requested a Victorian theme, cobblestoned streets, dark and misty atmosphere and iron fences and wilted plant life. I requested gargoyles, graves, and old, decaying houses. I requested a variety of vampires with different powers, and I wanted to be able to create a monstrous Nosferatu as well as a seductive Dracula. They went above and beyond, and I got it all. <3 <3 <3
Vampires is my favorite pack of all time, even across all Sims games. It changed everything for me, and it also made me realize that the developers really do pay attention. So I will always encourage other players to keep on making your requests, keep sharing ideas, because you really might get them. It might take a while, but it can happen.
Okay, now I have inspiration to go play my Vampires. Halloween is never over! >:)
