You can get twins or triplets in hospital too :)

I always go to the hospital, I liketo have the birth certificates. They remind me of the past generations of a family.

I just like making the most of my gameplay! :P there can be the odd time I do home birth

I'm trying to build a nicer Hospital, until I do, sims give birth at home.

It all depends on the family and what else is going on at that moment.

I want the birth certificate so I always take the sim to the hospital.

@Simmingal if your sim is in labor just wait. if you don't send them to the hospital to give birth & don't have a bassinet at home social services will give you one when she's ready to deliver.

I feel like I go to the hospital more, but that's only because I like getting the birth certificates. when I'm feeling extra lazy I'll just have my sim pretty much ignore labor until social services gives me a bassinet & and she has to deliver.

I have done it at home before and then just bought the birth certificate in build mode, but then it doesn't have the kid's name on the birth certificate so I don't like doing it that way as much

Annoyed I don't get a birth Cert without joining at the hospital (as that can bug).

Reading the topic name, I thought it'd be about the delivery of the game itself - digital download vs. a boxed copy.

Anyway, I just let my sims give birth at home. It gives the other family members a nice head start on their relationship and I can just let her do it the moment she decides it's the time.

I prefer sending them to the hospital, I like watching them check in but I wish they'd have to sit down after and make them wait just like in real life lol. HOWEVER I really dislike watching the "operation" it was funny the first time but it also freaks me out. Still it seems a lot more realistic then the home birth where she just stands over the crib holding her stomach and breathing lol.

It would be cool if they had some kind of water birth pool for home, so maybe she sits down in the pool and does a bunch of deep breathing - I dunno being the Sims maybe their is a funny animation - the water starts boiling and slowly this baby rises out of it...wait this sounds more like something that would belong in a horror movie...
