- EntityofDesire6 years agoSeasoned AceOne mod I encountered added a % for death from child birth, it seems kind of cruel but I like to use it for my medieval play because back then things didn't always go smoothly too. I kind of wish there was a custom ghost color for it though...to me thats a truly tragic death yet I think would add a chance of risk esp. fitting to those 100 baby challenges.

I prefer sending them to the hospital, I like watching them check in but I wish they'd have to sit down after and make them wait just like in real life lol. HOWEVER I really dislike watching the "operation" it was funny the first time but it also freaks me out. Still it seems a lot more realistic then the home birth where she just stands over the crib holding her stomach and breathing lol.
It would be cool if they had some kind of water birth pool for home, so maybe she sits down in the pool and does a bunch of deep breathing - I dunno being the Sims maybe their is a funny animation - the water starts boiling and slowly this baby rises out of it...wait this sounds more like something that would belong in a horror movie...

it better be this baby- simmerLella6 years agoSeasoned AceI used to provide a maternity clinic, set as a home, and temporarily move the family there. Then it would technically be a "home" birth but would not feel like it at all. The bonus was that I wouldn't have to deal with the weird surgery contraption.
- In my historical save I do only home births because they're poor and can't afford to visit a doctor. But most of the time I do hospital births simply because of the birth certificate

I prefer to have my babies at the hospital because I get a birth certificate for the newborn. Even though you cant do anything with it..it gives some more realism in the game :)
You can look at the birth certificates and It'll say something like "
Sim Name is a healthy baby girl" at least until the writing fades. After that you can't. I wish it wouldn't fade
Wait. Hold on. The birth certificate SAYS SOMETHING? and it FADES? it saying something is a nice touch... but it fading is a weird design choice especially since real ones don't just magically stop having words....
Hm. I learn more about the game every time I come on here.- Sara1010p6 years agoSeasoned AceI always send mine to the hospital. I sent the to the hospital in sims 3 as well, even though I couldn't accompany them inside.
- Artcader6 years agoRising AceSpeaking of birth certificates, I wish vampires had special ones, just like aliens. I feel like mermaids will follow suit and then possibly witches too unfortunately.

yes you have to have your sim view the birth certificate and then you can read it before it fades. In the fading is very annoying to me LOL But apparently not everyone is experiencing it. I have it sometime around the time my sim turns into a young adult or an adult. It doesn't always seem to be the same but it does seem to happen for every birth certificate I have I'll get a notification saying that the writing has faded and then after that when my sim tries to view it it just says the writing is faded and you can't view this one anymore. - Mostly at the hospital so I can get their little birth certificate but it is a process. Sometimes I will have the baby at home if my "story" calls for it.
- LatinaBunny6 years agoSeasoned AceI usually have the sims give birth at home.
