One system I sometimes do in big household is that I take turns on which sim I focus on. I'm not allowed to switch to another sim until I've granted one of their wishes. Usually they wish for pretty simple stuff, but it's a nice way of getting to know them and you can have several rounds. It's fun to see what the sims are up to when you get back to them.
Sometimes when my sims start fires I watch and wait if anyone is smart enough to put it out. Otherwise... one sim less. Okay I wouldn't do this to my favourites, but I play a lot of families so there are some spare sims. Two sims have died this way.
I also have some rules for my rotational play which vary from one family to another. My escort sims get "kaching" every time they woohoo with someone new... In my mafia family the heir must be girl and their bodyguards come from a certain bloodline... Few houses live without electronic appliances... that kind of stuff.
Very nice.
I use the same system in my jail lot except I make the switch everyday. day 1 I control only inmate 1 and I am not allowed even to switch to others just to look at their needs etc. Day 2 is for inmate 2 and so on.
Your last paragraph is something I have planned to but did not yet. It's the brothel challenge. But for that I am not using kaching but the money cheat "Money X" where X is the amount you set for the household funds. I don't want the sim to be paid the same. bad woohoos should pay less. I still need to think of a more defined system for the payment.
I've been thinking my escort sims should all develop their charisma skill and use the ask for a loan interaction to get payment. I wonder if that would work. I currently have them living in a very big house, so there's not much extra money left after the bills even with the kaching cheat. I've been inspired by some challenges, but I don't usually follow the rules exactly as I play rotationally and just want to add little things to spice up the regular game.
I also have summer school for kids (they move in for couple of weeks and attend classes "nearby"), dormitory for teens to live in and finally a building ready to be an elderly home, but I haven't started it yet. It's really fun to focus on certain age group by having them all under the same roof for a while & GT helps a lot! My first teen group from the dormitory has became YA, but they started a group called highschool get together to keep in touch.
Same here. I take the idea of a challenge then add to it my own rules that suits my game play.
The kids school is another nice idea. Just yesterday I set up my university in the game. Now a school for kids is needed too
