- joleaco8 years agoSeasoned AceI switched to long earlier this year, before that I alway played on normal lifespan.
Playing rotationally, I felt that normal was too short to really get to know a sim, and have them live a varied life instead of just sleep, eat and work. The only drawback to playing on long without modifying individual life stages is that babies are babies forrrrevvvverrrrr! "joleaco;c-16006702" wrote:

I'm still trying to figure out why some of my sims families I'd keep forever and others I'd just as soon kill off quicker to get to the next generation. Maybe I need to try rotational play and get to know them better myself. There has to be a reason I force feed anti aging potions on one or two sims and kill the others off faster than normal after they hit that stage where I'm bored with them."lottevdbrug;c-16005125" wrote:

I generally play with ageing off and age them up when I feel they should :joy:
Same. I have a Sim I created way back in 2014 and he still hasn't aged a day, but his children sure have.
I have done this! I'm wanting my sims children to start having grandbabies but I don't want to make my sim an elder and so I keep putting it off :joy:- Aging is off. Age the up, and kill them off when I know their storyline is over.
- Normal cause I play legacy and do love getting to the next generation.
Sometimes when I wanna enjoy a generation more I chnage it to long for a while or stop it completely and when I'm ready to move on I'll turn it back to normal. - Aging off, even though I dont't rotate.. I get very attached to my sims :) I don't like to be limited and rush everything, none of the life span lenghts suit my play style.
- I do long, and play a rotational game.
- ldm28 years agoSeasoned AceI play long, with rotational, currently 17 households. Pros & cons to it. Pros are that your sims accomplish much more, have more time to enjoy the rewards of their accomplishments & relationships become much more cemented. Cons-takes forever to get through a generation, your sims do start to run out of skills to master & aspirations to complete, and it can get boring & overly repetitive at times. Also, since I can never bring myself to age anyone up before their time, I currently have 11 families with 3 or more toddlers, 4 of them have 6 toddlers. That can be a pro or con depending on how you look at it (in my case it depends on what mood I'm in), and it's also probably why I'm always complaining about the constant potty training, and why my festivals are so poorly attended, because much of the population allowance is taken up by my tots. But I love it. I don't feel in any hurry to get things accomplished, find mates or even play new content.
- Aging off for the rotational save, short lifespan for legacies. And even so I have trouble proceeding beyond third generation.
