That's how I feel too. It is starting look that besides Santa there is nothing really gameplay wise. Especially when the calendar is a major feature.
I can't believe calender is a major feature, like literally this is super easy to do and EA tries to find the less exciting tasks to do in very lazy way to not work harder on this EP and make it exciting

Any modder can make calender feature in a week it's super easy and doesn't take much coding, I don't get people who excited for this and forget all the awesome things we could do in fall in Sims 3 from haunted house to participating in contests
Not trying to be rude, but... Have you ever coded anything or a calendar? We only know a little bit about it, but from the wording in the blog, it seems like it's a pretty in depth system.
I'm an IT student I know about coding I'm not an expert but I do know this calender is based on reusing existing coding in-game, and is super easy, it just sends a nofication about the holidays (feature already exists in pack) Or birthdays (feature already exists in base game) by just calling the feature code function and preview it to you, it may be slightly little more complicated than I've explained, but still, it wouldn't come close to be called new gameplay, gameplay require new coding not reusing of code (unless something need to be changed to work with the new gameplay like re-coding the lakes and rivers in Sims 3 to freeze in winter)
Except like I said, you can also create your own holidays with it, they haven't gone in depth yet. A guru said they are waiting to go in depth with the calender.
But by all means, if its so easy then go ahead and make a mod for it. You have a week.
