How is knowing how many days it is until bunnyfest so great?
You have the question answered right here with our behavior. Extremely many people anticipate the release of Seasons, including myself! Counting down the days and preparing stuff for it, like game changes before hand etc. If we have an actual functional calendar in game we can create the same anticipation for certain events, such as family visiting etc. and much more. I for myself know it will help, I have way too much to do in my real life, can't keep track of my Sim's life as well. So I don't write anything down and as a fact never had a party event yet, because I just don't have the incentive to prepare for it days in advance and anticipate it. I know the calendar + the weather of course will bring tons of energy into my Sims game style!
This.
So your sim gets engaged...
- You put the wedding in the calendar.
Is that it? NOPE!
- Weddings need fancy togs! Schedule an event to go dress/suit shopping wiith the bridesmaids/groomsmen.
- Crowded house? Book a honeymoon for some alone time after the wedding.
- What about food? Plan a tasting of cakes at a bakery or sample meals at a restaurant.
- Get the girls/lads together for a hen/stag party.
- Future Mother-in-Law needs to chill? Have a spa day together before the wedding.
And finally...
- Wedding Day! Do the thing with the ring.
- Head off on honeymoon, get pregnant and start planning for the baby's arrival.
Lol except than none of what's you've mentioned are included in Seasons lol
We can't go shopping in Sims 4, there's no honeymoon in Sims 4, the rest just depends on other packs (spa day)
When you try to defend at least include accurate facts, Please, I mean since when we can go shopping in Sims 4 ?
And I don't get what's the great game changer about something you already can do in game (except holidays which is just parties with different name) by just schedule it at later time..
Instead of having birthday today I can plan it next week, ok is that good? Yes..is that a GAME CHANGER ? Def no..
Erm you can actually go shopping with GTW (retail stores) or at the food stalls in SM (produce anyway). I'm not gonna call it an excellently implemented feature but it's there.
Also, some people actually look forward to the calendar. Being able to create special family get togethers around important family events (someone's death, a birthday party, baby shower, whatever) is something some of us look forward to. And it of course lets you know about & plan your activities around the weather, which is still the main feature most of us are getting the pack for. Weather. And the atmosphere that comes with it, including the passage of time, which can be nicely exemplified by...a calendar. Also we don't know all the features of the calendar yet, so who knows what it will allow us to do.
It's cool not to be excited about any of it, but you don't have to tell people there's nothing to be excited about or that there is nothing game changing in it for them. Cause you don't know how everyone plays their game right? I think we're capable of deciding ourselves what we look forward to or not :)
