expansion packs
cats and dogs - brindleton bay is a pretty world, and even if i don't use all of the items within the pack, my worlds just feel empty without cats/dogs.
city living - i really like the interactions with apartment neighbors + the festivals give my sims something to do (i also just really like the look and feel of the city)
get together - i love the premade families and world, and the clubs system is extremely helpful for a lot of things in gameplay.
island living - easily one of my favorite worlds, i also really enjoy the useable beaches/island activities. (+ with the new ability to place rentals in any world, sulani makes for an awesome vacation spot.)
game packs
vampires - i'm a huge fan of occult sims, so this gamepack is very fun to me, and easily the one i get the most usage out of. the vampire skill trees and weaknesses are also very interesting, and i like how you can make various types of vampires depending on what powers/aspirations you pick.
realm of magic - this is basically one of my must haves for the same reason as vampires. i enjoy playing with spellcasters, and although they are not quite as in depth as vampires, i do like the various spells/potions they have. (i also like how you can make your pet a familiar if you have cats and dogs)
parenthood - despite the fact that the ask for advice interaction can be sort of annoying, i really like the new traits that come with parenthood. mood swings are also pretty fun, and help further flesh out teens.
stuff packs
(i don't own many stuff packs, hence the lack of recommendations)
tiny living - i love the perks that come with living in a tiny home + a lot of the items are very versatile and go well with most other packs.
