What Packs Would You Buy?

Hi all, now that the holiday sales are coming through I am wondering what packs you all think are worth buying. I personally want to see if Eco Lifestyle is worth it as that and Snowy Escape are the only expansion packs I do not have. Has the new updates fixed Eco Lifestyle? Do you enjoy the game play? I also figure this will be a good thread for anyone else looking to buy a pack.

I would personally suggest Get to Work and Parenthood. I enjoy being able to "go to work" with my sims and I am a family simmer at heart. I also always am using something from Laundry Day for those looking for stuff packs.

  • The Eco Lifestyle is still glitchy.
However Snowy Escape is a wonderful game with so much gameplay with a new beautiful world.
This world ties with the beautiful Windenburg.
  • I have both, and in my opinion, they're both garbage. But if you're a builder and you want a new world to create with, Snowy Escape is far better. Eco has too many annoying features that will impact your game (such as NAP's)
  • I plan to pass on Eco Life, because everything I heard from it, and I don't want my neighborhoods to look bad. I want to get Snowy Escape, mostly for the Japanese-type furniture, and clothing. The skiing sounds kind of boring, since people just watch them, and it doesn't do much overall.
  • I have ECO Lifestyle, but not Snowy Escape. I think the ECO pack is better after the patch, I like the world and the new work from home possibilities. I use the NAPs with my local political system, so it feels like an asset, more than something annoying, anyway I hardly saw any NPC perform NAP related stuff in weeks. I don't want all my families to live ECO style though, so I play it with just a few families meaning I don't play the pack that much during a full rotation. I don't regret buying it full price.
  • I doubt Snowy Escape will be put on discount anytime soon. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be the big money maker after the "flop" of the Star Wars pack.
I ended up passing on Eco Lifestyle since I knew I wouldn't really enjoy any of the features and the mixed community feelings overall.

EPs I use all the time: Get Together and City Living, Seasons (only because I can't turn off the seasons lol).
EPs I use sometimes: Island Living, Discover University, Get To Work.
EPs I rarely use: Seasons (because I cancel the holidays more often than not), Cats & Dogs, Get Famous.
Not Purchased: Eco Lifestyle & Snowy Escape. I do not plan to purchase EL.

GPs I use all the time: Dine Out, Vampires, and Parenthood.
GPs I use sometimes: Spa Day and Realm of Magic.
GPs I rarely use: Outdoor Retreat and Strangerville.
Not Purchased: Jungle Adventure & Journey to Batuu. I do not plan to purchase either.

SPs I use all the time: Tiny Living Stuff... everything else I either didn't purchase or never use.
  • Snowy escape for the new world, other than that nothing is that interesting. Would want it all of course just for sake of having it/
  • I own Eco Lifestyle and while I don't hate it, I think Snowy Escape looks like a better pack. EL takes a lot of time to warm up, I got it at the release and still feel I haven't really experienced it I haven't tried most of the eco gameplay or the community lot voting thing. I haven't really tried changing the world through it.

That was me until Star Wars. I may at some point justify the other games, but Star Wars will forever be greyed out on my title screen lol.

This is awesome! I love how you broke everything down. I have no problem waiting for Snowy Escape to be on sale, especially since it doesn't seem to be as good as many were hoping. I think EA failing so badly with Star Wars allowed the community to hype up Snowy Escape more so than we normally would. I struggle because the game play of Eco Lifestyle hasn't intrigued me that much, yet I want to see how it'll fit into my game play. I guess it's great that I'll probably have until around New Year to decide lol.
  • At this point I've bought all the packs I want out of boredom this year, can't complain though as there's 8760 hours in a year and I've spent 3250 of those in the past year alone on this game
