What preparations are you making for the new Crystal pack release…

@OzSimsFamilyYour mention of the collecting and camping sim has me thinking, how will I go about getting crystals? Join the science career for quick and easy access to large deposists at Future Lab, lazily order them from the computer or go on expeditions? Argh, decisions! What are you all doing?

In terms of my test sim for the pack, I cleaned out his storage room to fill with the new workbenches and clutter and decided on an apprentice. I'll take in a young adult, so less legal responsibility than with a teen. Also no need for parenting skill on my mentor sim.

@Bluegayle   I really love his style.  I use that jacket for several of my sims as well.

I think that I will do a mixture of going out  collecting crystals and metals, ordering some of them, and also growing them on the pretty Crystal tree @EnkiSchmidt 🙂

@EnkiSchmidt   Yes there are now so many ways to get the crystals, including downloading simmer-made crystal rooms from the gallery.  It’s going to be so much fun to use the crystals in a new and exciting way.  I love when existing gameplay gets a revamp or gets incorporated into the new gameplay in the packs. 

Unfortunately I had another computer crash late yesterday afternoon so I’m thinking I will just start a new save and have my scientist, collector who loves going camping and exploring until I can get the new computer in a couple of weeks.  I can’t grumble, my computer is very old - I haven’t updated since I was injured at work - so it’s way overdue (I used to always update every couple of years).  I will probably purchase some basic crystals from the computer as well as intensively collect for a few sim-days while at work.  I can’t wait to pick up my new computer.

I hope that your new save with your collector scientist goes well. 

@rosemow   Thankyou. I haven’t lost the saves and all the cc and a list of needed mods as they are on external storage ready for the new computer.  Luckily I had just finished saving everything to the external drive about an hour before the latest crash.  

I am, like so many other simmers, very excited about this pack.  I am looking forward to integrating some new gameplay into my occult sims games.

@OzSimsFamilyI was hesitant as I'll be adding flower arrangements to it and they don't carry over to the gallery, they turn into twigs. But what I'll do is add it with something else in place of the flower arrangements instead and I'll share it to the Gallery next week sometime and update on here when I do.

Here's the shell of my shop with a completed apartment for the owner. The shop is still empty until I add the new pack.

@simsplayer818   Those windows are perfect for a crystal, jewellery and flower store.  I’m looking forward to seeing how you fit it out and decorate the interior.
