What Sim Worlds are close to Sulani?

I know some of us play with regions or ideas of what worlds (think climates) are in close proximity and which would be further away.
Then there is the fact that worlds are loosely based on real life locales.

So, in your opinions, what worlds are quickly (within a day trip) accessible from Sulani? Are there real-life locations like Sulani with a more temperate climate main center within a reasonable commute?

Like, they might have to catch a ferry to work, but I'm not sure about wrapping my head around the weather change within such a reach...

  • Yeah in my list of regions for world hopping, Sulani is "closest" to Mt. Komorebi and Del Sol Valley, in that the isolated pacific islands are close to Japan and the southern US. Still will hop for gyms and parks and what not but mostly I do tend to stick within the region when playing with a household there.
  • Sulani is kind of my favorite world because it's so surreal, and I am a pisces. I think Tartosa comes in as a hard 2nd in beauty and vibe of where I would want my sim self to live.
  • I do usually put tartosa near sulani. The way I imagine it, if you hop on a boat and sail straight from the beach lot in tartosa, you'll end up in Sulani in a little over a day of travel. I don't tend to think of my sim worlds as if they are the real places they're based on, rather, I prefer to think of them as fictional places in a fictional world (planet??) I suppose you could put any coastal world near sulani, but personally I think Tartosa fits best.

so to me its just really strange how Brindleton Bay which is mostly countryside is placed right next to San Myshuno which is like the biggest city in game

I also placed Copperdale more so Salem in my mind

but I'm finding the occult worlds to be too far away from everywhere pretty much but also too far from Forgotten Hollow that is not even on map

and it seems odd to me to have so much distance between willow creek-newcrest-magnolia , san sequoia and san myshuno cause I've always throught them to be roughly in same area

evergreen harbor I strangely don't really relate with anything that much besides being very america so it doesn't bother me too much where it is on map

and desert part seems all okay to me as it is although again i feel like shrinking this map down so chestnut ridge is closer to brindleton country

actually yes maybe its just that maybe the map is too wide and we have to just squeeze it into a shape of plumbob

Well, on the East Coast, San Myshuno is representing New York City and the surrounding area. But there are some places on the East Coast with lighthouses and stuff that are not big city and are rather older type buildings, that’s where Brindleton Bay comes in, it represents an older dockish fishing area/industry. But both Brindleton Bay and San Myshuno would be next to the Ocean. Things on the East Coast can be very different. You can go from big city to old town fisheries pretty quickly.

San Sequoia is representing the West Coast where San Francisco is. I do think San Myshuno could also represent the LA area in California, but it would be way south of San Sequoia.

The town in Realm of Magic could be close to San Sequoia pretty easily…. It’s up in the mountains. I would play Copperdale more in the mid to middle north east of the country in oldering mining towns, though it could also be played like you said, close to Washington and Oregon. Forgotten hollow…. No idea where that one is.

    This one looks great!
  • I don't have Wedding Stories (nor will I ever, unless they give it away), so I pretend Brindleton Bay and San Sequoia are both ferry departure points that can take sims to Sulani. Sulani has to be close enough to the 'mainland' to account for its people CONSTANTLY wandering around the mainland, as well as for mainlanders constantly being present in Sulani -- hence a ferry, and not a ship.
  • I find the idea of tartosa and sulani close together very strange. In real life the Mediterranean and the middle of the Pacific are on different sides of the globe. You can't get any further away from each other.

To me sulani feels very isolated, not close to any world. If I have to connect it to another world it would be San mychuno or Mt Komorebi because I imagine I would have to go through Asia to reach that part of the Pacific.

Tartosa on the other hand is Europe so that should be close to Windenburg, Britechester and Henford. All regions which I can go to in real life without a plane.

I used to play in worlds close together but I am not really strict about that anymore. If sims need a park or gym, I go to whatever world I can think of with that location. I don't do duplicate lot types for every region of the world.

It is fun to see how different people group different worlds together. Especially more neutral spaces like evergreen harbour or San mychuno seem to vary because they are not as restrictive as other worlds and allow some interpretation.
  • I separate all of the worlds by real life geography but they're closer together than in the real world. In my head canon sims need to fly from say Windenberg or Tartosa to San Myshuno or Del Sol Valley, but the flights are short, only one to three hours, versus the better part of an entire day. No two worlds in my stories are more than two or three hours apart. Some, like Sulani, just have no roads or ferries to get you there, sims have to fly.
  • Sulani isn’t close to any of the other worlds. The closest would be San Sequoia or Del Sol Valley (both roughly 4,700 miles) then in the opposite direction, Mt. Komorebi (approximately 4,800 miles). Tartosa is about 10,400 miles away. Selvadoarda is 6,800 miles away.

For me, Sulani is based on American Samoa, DSV is the Los Angeles area, SS is San Francisco, MK is Japan, Selvadorada is Cuba and Tartosa is Spain. Sulani isn’t logically close to any of the other worlds unless you consider it Hawaii then it’s close to DSV or SS.

I think I’m going to revise my distances when I make my new world map and make them about 1/8-1/4 of the distance they are in RL.
