I'd just like Sims to be more aware of their surroundings and react accordingly. For instance, I've had several Sims abducted or hit by lightening with other Sims that would've without a doubt saw what was happening. But, they just kept doing whatever they were doing and ignored the events. Would you just keep knocking on a door to visit someone and ignore the fact that person was just abducted by aliens right next to you? Or watch someone get hit by lightening with a bland look on your face and then keep grilling hot dogs in your backyard?
Or how about someone showering in the rain right next to you while you're at a yard sale table. Wouldn't you be at least shocked? Sims aren't fazed at all, they just want to keep contemplating buying an exciting plumbing part or a cute frog. *ribbit ribbit* How about someone not wearing any pants at a romance festival? I'd find that very questionable and avoid them. Sims on the otherhand ignore the missing article of clothing and try to hit on them. Maybe they think they're receptive or something because of the lack of pants? :D I don't know. But still, I think you get my point.
That's just a few examples, there are many, many other times Sims will just blissfully go about their business ignoring something eventful happening around them. I think this goes hand-in-hand with what you said @hanuel about Sims moving out or a child getting an A. It's the same lack of being aware about what's happening and proper reactions to them.
I think the game needs to be tweaked to be better aware where Sims are currently placed in the game too. I don't know how many times I've had a Sim visiting mine and they will get a phone call from that same Sim asking them out on a date or congratulating them for something. A couple days ago it even happened while my Sim was in bed woo hooing with the person calling. "Hey, would you like to go out on a date?" Say what? Oh no, is this person in bed with me a clone, a twin or an imposter? *gasp* :D
