Honestly, the best way is to have more than one sim. Right now I have 2 sibling sims, one is a werewolf the other a vampire. And everytime she rampages her brother goes around using magic to repair the broken items and clean up puddles. I have found it is an excellent and entertaining way to farm experience for both of them.
