My device is a MacBook Pro. It's not a fancy gaming computer, but it was plenty expensive! It's been good to me though. I have all expansion and game packs, about half of the stuff packs, and 38GB of custom content, and the lag is not intolerable. Plus I have a lot of CC clutter in some of the houses and complicated hairstyles on some Sims. Plus about 150 played Sims... Hmm, I'm surprised my computer hasn't exploded yet.
