- I didn't have a computer until 2004. I knew nothing about them...so I decided to build one . Been building and upgrading computers ever since. The computer I have at the moment has a Geforce 1070ti graphics card, 32GB DDR4 RAM and a first generation Ryzen 7 1800x processor. With Sims 4 I get good framerates!!

Hello! New member here. It's been legit years since I played on PC, when I did it would have been closer to the low end of the scale ( At least by the time I was using it for Sims ) But I am looking to buy a new PC, something hopefully capable of running the Sims 4 along with expansions and a decent amount of CC/Mods. But .. Realistically my budget is definitely mid range!
Here's some specs for one computer I am looking at:
Intel Core i5+ 8400 Processor
Memory: 8 GB RAM / 16 GB Intel Optane
Storage: 1 TB HDD
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB
I am slowly getting the very, very basics of this stuff but honestly I am pretty clueless about tech stuff so I been hoping for any feedback or recs on this stuff
Those specs meet and exceed recommended specs of base game and DLC on the computer you are looking at. PC part picker is good for building a computer on a budget. Can I run it is good to check base game and each DLC spec too.- Mine's not 2000 USD but approximately 1600 USD I think
- ADashofAsh90Seasoned VanguardMine is in between Mid and High at about $1400.
- Alienware desktop. i5, 8GB GTX 1070, 16GB DDR4
Dell Laptop, i7, 4GB GTX 1050Ti, 16GB DDR4
My main save is on the desktop and then I have a vampire save I play on the laptop when traveling or away from my desk. - RTX 2080ti, Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB 3200 mhz ram
cost around $2300 USD before taxes. obviously I didn't build it to play TS4 but it works for that I guess - marianlarsenNew SpectatorI think it’s mid-range. It’s not a gaming laptop, but it works.
I bought it 4 years ago to play Sims 3 with only a few ep’s and sp’s. My old laptop couldn’t even load Sims 3 base-game with 2 ep’s and 1 sp without crashing. I now have Sims 4 with almost everything, and it runs fine on my current laptop. - telemwillSeasoned AceI don't know how to classify mine. It is a refurbished Dell to which a friend of mine added some parts, including a good graphics card. (He specifically fixed it so we could play Sims and Minecraft.) I didn't pay a lot for it, but I have no problem playing on Ultra.
- alanmichael1Seasoned Hotshot799 €. GTX 1050 Ti, i5 9400F, 8 GB Ram. As I'm playing only TS I think a more expensive PC would be a waste of money and electricity.
- I play on an HP Notebook intel core i7. The Laptop was around $700 but my brother installed a crazy high graphics card he had laying around is workshop and customized the internal memory to 2TB. But that doesn't mean my game doesn't lag lmfao.
