- I enjoy it all: Making my own sims, building their houses and places for them to visit and of course playing with them, making my own stories. I tend to swicth between actual gameplay and just random builds, when I sometimes need time to decide the next step for my gameplay. One thing I need to do more of in my gameplay is making more drama. For instance, I rarely break up couples - which I think would add an interesting element to my game, if I could make myself do it.
- FriendlySimmersNew Travelermost of the time i play and sometime make sims or random lot so i would say a mix
- ChampandGirlieNew SpectatorI combine all of these. I find it easy to go between them. I mainly play but I build when I want to or work with the gallery or renovate. Lately if I download, I usually customize building shells for my sims. Sometimes I do build and for more complicated concepts that will take a while, sometimes I look for a gallery download. I'm picky about gallery downloads and have rejected non-functional or overly cluttered lots. Most recently, I downloaded a whole sushi restaurant for Mt. Komorebi because I only wanted to customize the menu and staff outfits then send my sims in to start playing with it. It's a traditional Japanese place though maybe I'll add a hipster sushi bar if I have a lot where I want to place it. I ended up going with the second place I downloaded because the first one had a major routing issue (tiny, crowded rooms and the ordering stand was set in a way that wouldn't function for gameplay). Sometimes I opt to build though.
I'm very comfortable with CAS. I make a lot of sims and easily edit them. I make over all of my born-in-game sims and usually give them multiple outfits. I liked that they inserted a faster way into CAS in the Sim panel. I do think they could probably make the editing cheats easier to access. I know how to use them but newer or more casual players might not.
For gameplay, I play with sims in a rotation and that's where I spend most of my time. I know that some people play this game by making their friends and then making silly or funny things happen to them. I'm not like that, I play a large rotation which I find to be really fun. I experience a lot of different types of play with different households. I'm also always looking for new things to do. I happily fill in a story and go with things. - CAPTAIN_NXR7Seasoned VeteranAll of it.
The Sims 4 is one of my favorite games I’ve ever invested in simply because I enjoy every single play mode equally.
Since it’s a life simulator I will always ask for more and better gameplay & AI systems, but If they stopped releasing packs right now I’d still be pretty satisfied as I’m constantly doing something creative in the game.
I love CAS, I love Building and I love spending hours making up all kinds of crazy scenarios for my sims in live mode.
I also appreciate the modding community as this game lends itself perfectly for content that will never make it into the vanilla game, but is extremely useful for storytelling purposes.
One feature I do miss is a Create a World / Neighborhood Tool. For me that would make the overall game mode experience pretty much complete: CAS, BB, LiveMode and CAW equals One Very Happy Captain. - l33tp33tNWNew SpectatorI love all, but I am mostly a CAS simmer.
- HopeyStarrRising TravelerThough I'm most concerned about gameplay, CAS and BB play big roles with regards to how much I enjoy it.
A sim's style, home and hobbies have to match what I imagine for that sim for me to really get into the gameplay. - I usually go into CAS only after a new pack releases and I never build from the ground up. Download everything and make any necessary changes.
- rlc77Seasoned NewcomerI play and build, and after a few years of playing Sim 4, I'm just starting to get better at CAS.
- FatTribble23New ScoutDefinitely gameplay, although I do enjoy CAS a lot. Not a builder in any way, shape or form.
- JestTruSeasoned NewcomerBuild/buy and play
