What Would You Choose

Saw this on Twitter.

You can only keep the base game, one expansion pack, one game pack, one stuff pack, and one kit. What packs/kit would you choose?

Only one of each!

  • Island Living, Parenthood, and My first Pet

(Hard choice between parenthood and jungle for me and my first pet and Moschino)
  • EP: City Living
    GP: Werewolves
    SP:
    Kit:
I... recently got Vampires on sale for the price of a SP plus a Kit, and it is much more important to me than any stuff pack plus any kit, so my SP + kit choice is Vampires :)
  • EP: cottage living. I would definitely miss get together and seasons. Get together has been around for so long that it feels as if it were base game but I would miss the world of windenburg and the clubs to get groups of sims together. I would also miss seasons and it's holidays. Those two packs however are more of a constant background feature to me. If I could only have one EP I choose cottage living because it has things to do (growing giant crops, canning, errants), festivals, a beautiful world and farm animals. Let's not forget the Simple Living lot challenge. Such a great addition to the game, this lot challenge should have been base game.
GP: realm of magic. Actually it is a tie between realm of magic and werewolves. I love the vibe of realm of magic and my game didn't feel complete without it. Werewolves is just a tad bit behind but is better implemented and more balanced. I'd go for realm of magic because I like the theme of the pack better but I actually want both
SP: nifty knitting : I like being able to create clothing and it is one of the stuff pack features I use the most. Plopsy is also a great feature to get more money out of craftables.
kits: little campers kit. I think I would go for little campers because it adds functional objects, and with the limited choice above I would still have don't wake the llama yeti, a small campfire, a swing and a projector. Every day clutter is a close second.
  • I just booted up the game with all packs disabled except those 4 I mentioned in my previous post. I might play a few sim days in this limited set up just to see how much I am missing and what I can easily do without.

The little campers kit is a funny one. While it adds don't wake the llama to it's own play table, the option is unavailable for the base game table without growing together. The big projector works like a tv, so no movie nights outside without the movie hang out stuff pack. And the campfire only allows marshmallows, for hotdogs you need outdoor retreat. So the objects from the little campers kit seem a tad bit limited without the other packs.
  • I honestly could not even begin to decide! There is just too much that I would miss now I have experienced it in the game. I couldn't imagine being without virtually all of them now. When we get The Sims 5 (or whatever they will call it), I am going to have a problem lol. I can't see myself getting it for a while. Or I could end up playing both lol.
  • GP: Cats and Dogs.
GP: Werewolves. Vampires, Realm of Magic. (Can't fully decide, but these would be a toughie.)
    SP: Paranormal
Kits: Book Nook.(I don't own it at all, but I do want to get it, and it looked nice from videos I have seen.)
  • Thank you so much. I have loved reading everyone’s answers and it has given me much to think about. I started out considering my favourite game styles, challenges and stories and what I considered essential for those. That meant I pretty much needed something from everything! So I started culling (similar to how I culled in RL when I moved to my little cabin).

    After culling, my list read:
EP Get to work; seasons; cottage living; eco living
GP outdoor retreat; jungle adventure; realm of magic
SP tiny living; laundry day; paranormal; nifty knitting
Kits country kitchen; bust the dust

    Okay here goes

EP: Get to work (active careers, aliens…)
GP: outdoor retreat (holidays, camping, collections, skills…) (it was so hard to drop RoM)
SP: tiny living (love the bonuses) (bye bye historical/off-the-grid laundry day washing in tub and hanging on line)
Kits: bust the dust (love creating challenges around gluttonous freegan slobs or the neat perfectionist)

Obviously, my criteria was how it enabled my gameplay which for now is very challenge oriented rather than family legacy. I’m going to try and play like this for a couple of days and see what happens - how much does or doesn’t work because of inter-pack requirements. This list will continually change as my game focus changes. Unfortunately, with Sims 4 (unlike all previous Sims) I find a serious need for challenges… just to keep the game interesting. No long legacy games without small generational or multi-generational challenges as the everyday gameplay just doesn’t enthral me the way the previous sims did.
  • This is so very hard. As stated above I'd probably not play so much. Takes a deep breath.

    Get Famous
    Parenthood
    Toddler Stuff
    Country Kitchen

And then I would expand my folder of mods with cc and gameplay mods.

Please don't take away my packs. LOL
