What Would You Do If The Accolade Presented Is A Different Color From the One Received?

Because Maxis is always lazy when it comes to animations.
The animation budget is one of the main reasons older iterations of the franchise had such limited activities for teens and why teens in TS4 are the same height as adults. In both cases, the primary reason is so they didn't have to do additional animation work. I also believe it was the main reason why toddlers weren't in the base game. They didn't have the time for all of the additional animations for them.

Well, I switched out his silver and bronze for gold. That's what I saw him win, and that's what he should have had in his household inventory. He has two silver for the Meet & Greets, however, even though he did win the Gold. Face/palm. I do wish the devs would overcome their laziness/low-budget and not be this careless. If something is worth doing, it's worth doing right. Remind me again, we paid how much for this game?

I don't really care about them, I don't even remember if my Sims have them (or the colors of them). I usually forget to go to the starlight accolades event anyway. My Sims are hardly ever celebrities, I think I have one global celebrity and he's the only one who probably owns them all, because I fully explored the Get Famous pack when it came out.
If there's an accolade "thingy" in my Sims household inventory I would either use it as a decoration regardless of the color of it or just sell it.

Hey, @GalacticGal, I'm revisiting this thread because now that I have a mod which reminds me when the Starlight Accolades are happening my Musician sim has been making it to the ceremony every week. She's won several accolades for best song at this point and I can confirm that when your sim is on stage accepting the award it's always gold, regardless of what color the actual reward you get in household inventory is.

Mainly I posted here to let you know that I also noted that the different colors are all swatches on the same item. You don't need to delete and replace them to change them to gold, just go into build/buy and select the "Design Tool" and click them to pick the gold swatch.
