I'm playing 100 baby and I can't age them up because the cake is not working half the time. If it works they go out the front door walk all the way around the house and then age up. Or it doesn't work...

I would try using the reset cheat for sims if you get a bug like that. Do you know how the cheats work? Open the cheat window by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C, then type in the window “resetsim (firstname) (lastname)”

I'm lucky I can play a computer game. Because usually I break them if I go anywhere near them. So no, I know nothing about how to do cheats and I don't use mods or CC although I wish it was easy so I could. I quit the game repaired it and went back in. He put him down. BUT, he couldn't play or anything until he introduced himself to his own child. It seems like EA go's in fixes one issue and breaks 2. Then goes in to fix those and breaks 4 more. One step forward and two steps back. I think I'll go and read a book now.
Sometimes they have to greet each other when you load the game after something like that. It’s a huge pet peeve of mine too, especially when you’ve just had them all sit down to a meal and they can’t start talking until they all get up and hug one another. ?
Well I don’t blame you for not fiddling with mods but the resetsim cheat is pretty essential sometimes and it really can’t hurt anything so I recommend it for any issues you have with stuck interactions in the future.
