Thanks again for all your comments and suggestions everybody! I went back in game and tried a variety of different shrubs, flowers, trees, climbing vines, etc. and nothing looked right too me. It didn't flow and looked like too much for this particular build. However, I love adding shrubs, flowers, etc. to less modern homes, which is what I usually build.
In the end, I decided perhaps doing something with the fountain and walkway/sidewalk was a better solution to make it look a little less, plain? Not sure if that's the word I'm looking for, but I hope you know what I mean. Here's what I did:

Not a big change, but in my opinion I think it makes a big difference just adding those blue ground flowers around the fountains and changing the pavement to blend in more with the surroundings. It's that Selvadorada flooring, I think it's supposed to be dirt. lol I like it though. Here's a close-up of the flowers around a fountain to give you an idea of what they look like. They're some kind of perennial called Hydrangeas, I think?

What do y'all think? Better? Worse? I love it personally, especially the flowers, a little neutral on the sidewalk, but I like that it's not so bright. Anyway, time for this Simmer to get some ZzzzZs. Have a great day and...
