I'm pretty familiar with this and I've taken a few quizzes on it. I'm split between Explorer and Killer, though I lean more toward Explorer. I'm extremely detail-oriented so I enjoy games that are heavy on immersion and that provide a decent amount of depth while giving me the freedom to explore and discover new things.
On the Killer side, I tend to get bored with game worlds where nothing bad can happen. I like an amount of unpredictability or danger. I don't always go out of my way to make bad things happen, but it's not much of a "game" for me if there's no risk. For instance, one of my craziest TS3 memories was a meteor striking the prom. Or there was the gift giving party that ended in a house fire. I remember the laugh I got when a robber showed up in TS3 and stole my sim's toilet paper because there was nothing else to take and then on top of that I got the "hey you're hot, I'd like to get to know you" attraction message as she's running off and my sim's calling the police.
So, TS4 really doesn't hit my playstyle buttons. For me personally (and I know everyone doesn't feel this way) I find it's lacking depth. My Explorer side likes to dig deep into games and discover secrets and learn systems, but with TS4 I feel like there's not a lot for me to dig into. When I tried to dig below the surface it was like trying to fish in a rain puddle. It's pretty backdrops, and cute animations, but it doesn't feel like there's much going on at a deeper level. And it fails my Killer side too because I feel like the danger and unpredictability is severely dampened. So, I've tried the game several times and it just doesn't click with me the way the older games did.
