When creating a family for multiple generations, do you play all of the descendants?

Yes, I intentionally created my current rotational save that way. I limited the second generation households to one pregnancy each so it wouldn't explode too quickly. I am thinking of easing up on that for the next generation and then potentially not playing every single household that creates.
