No, it's not insane at all. They are currently on an accelerated track. This makes MORE sense. Later, you can slow them down if you like.
I have 3 duplicate saves of my main game that features every household I play and all my worlds. I play a different scenario in each of the saves for different sims that I want to feature in a story. I could have up to 50 saved games if I wanted a save for each household but it's easier to just do 3 saved games. Save As is a great feature that I like to use. I continue to play the same save in each save until I have accomplished something like a lifetime reward skill or have a good storyline with pictures to add or both.
I have since resolved how to sort out this slight mess I made for myself. But it is quite possible you've given me a work-around for the pictures and gameplay I will need for one of my Sims. I know that removing her from the save she's in currently (with her entire family and friends she's made) will break those relationships. If I play things in a duplicate save, as you mentioned, then I can get the pictures needed for her own storyline. I will be able to carry on in the main save once she gets back from her mission. Bree will be in Starfleet Academy for three years, then have her first mission. I can then segway into the story once again, Joe in the meantime will finish med school, and the rest can carry on. I am so glad I took a moment to read my emails!
