When Two of Your Sims Think They're Merfolk

Joey and his younger and only sister, Brianna, are both exhausted. So, why is it I found them BOTH, floating on their backs in the family pool? I play with full autonomy on, so they made this choice on their own. Do they suddenly believe they are merfolk? Or were they wanting out of this game? :open_mouth: We all know, or so we should know, that sending a Sim to swim while exhausted is virtually a death sentence. Just sayin'.

Please share moments of your Sims' autonomous behavior that you found highly supsect.

  • UPDATE: Oh my gosh, the Eldest kid, a YA is also exhausted. I checked on him because he has work and wanted to see if he had completed his daily task. Found him out in the yard, walking in that slumped over manner of the exhausted. Where was he headed, you ask? The POOL to back float. What is up with my family all of a sudden?

And that is why I keep autonomy on! I just have never had three Sims basically do the same odd thing.
  • I play with some mods. I don't know if it kept some of the quirks from the latest patch and pack out of my game (not all...)
Anyway, my Mum sometimes plays vanilla and she fired up after I had gone to bed early one night. Next morning she told me she had nearly lost her Sim in the exact same way. Refused to sleep, refused to eat and kept going to the pool to back float. Even she knew that it would kill him! Wonder what the cause was?
  • @GalacticGal Thank you for posting this. My first reaction was no swimming pools for the sims I love. Then it occurred to me, just cheat and give them the never weary trait. I can rest easy even if they no longer need to.

I don't know, quite frankly. It was just bizarre that two of my Teens were doing it, and then the eldest kid in the family a new YA decided to join them. Thankfully, I have MCCC and I could immediately cheat up their needs! Phew! Dodged that Phaser blast! (Of course, this nonsense begins the minute I make the decision this is going to be my new Main Save.) Face/palm.
  • @GalacticGal I've had the same sort of thing happen. One of my Sims' Energy was deep in the red zone and decided to hit the pool instead. He back floated until his dog jumped into the pool and roused him. I wonder if he would have drowned, if not for the faithful doggo's intervention.

Most likely. I don't have any pets in my Sims' household, currently. I had to do the saving. It was just lucky I was checking on them for something else. With Aaron it was if he had done his daily work task. I forget why I was checking on the other two … I really don't wish to start all over a fourth time. Only another week and they go off to high school.

Since our Sims have to earn the points for that Trait, I don't consider it cheating. Now, what I did was full-on cheating. LOL
