When Your Sim Can't Quiet Her Infant Twins!

Lately, I've had my share of very fussy infants in my game. This one takes the Starlight Accolade, however. Twin girls and as soon as one is quieted the other starts wailing — again. My Sim's hubby is often off and about being a Rock Star, or a movie star, now, too, that it's rare when he's there to help out. Although, he's starting to pay an emotional toll for his absences. Kayleigh is fighting this battle mostly alone. All her eldest child, a Toddler, can do is babble at them. So, in between making sure he eats, is properly Potty trained, and asleep (he would sooner pass out on the floor than give in), she's literally running around doing double-duty. They could be fed, their diapers newly changed and even if one nods off, it's only for a wink or two, if for that long. When Kayleigh checks to see 'what's wrong', mostly they need to be talked with. Face/palm. She readily complies, but then (and generally after she just crawls into bed) off they go again. I can't stand the sounds of a crying baby, let alone two, so as a player it's hard on me, too.

I think what they are really screaming for is to be untethered from that tiny bassinet! EA, the Sim infants have had enough. They want OUT.

Thank you.

I absolutely agree - I love the baby stage (apart from wailing twins and the one time a single mum gave birth naturally to triplets!! :# ) and wish they would untether the babies from their cots!!
  • Never! LOL They will age up very soon. In fact, I already know what Traits to give them. Harmony is clingy and her twin, Melody, is Fussy. Together they cause Discord. Mwahahahaha!

That's awesome! I've been following your updates. I've mostly had twin boys, so I wonder if it's a gender thing. I've never had so much trouble with twins, but I tend to have two parents involved when there are twins.

Yeah, Erik is very involved when he's home. The operative word is when.

He might need to choose between his career and raising the kids. lol. Can he do that?
  • If you max the parenting skill, your sims get the 'super efficient baby care' option and honestly babies really aren't that needy if you use that to fill their needs.

Yes, I decided not to cheat the parents' skills on this. I knew up front how many children they were going to have, following the course of the game save that got corrupted and now is unplayable. Yes, I love the 'super efficient baby care' option. Even Erik has it now, or in that particular save anyway. It's a great tool to keep baby content for quite some time, actually. Yay.
