After watching some youtube videos showing all the apartments, I have noticed that there seems to be hardly any apartment building suitable for singles. I mean for me personally why I said I want apar...

I've been busy with "real life" & haven't had much time for playing Sims so I'm trying to catch up on stuff. I just got some more of the older expansions so I'm trying to figure some things out. Is it possible to build new apartments from scratch now (even if it requires mods)? If so, can there be more than one apartment in each building that Sims can move into?
I love the pictures & ideas for studio apartments. I'm downloading an update but when it's done I want to see if I can build a small studio. My idea is to not even have actual walls for the bathroom-- maybe just room dividers or half-walls. I would like to have it be a basement apartment for a single Sim & then a higher up apartment for Sims with roommates. For the basement one, there will be no windows so I'll add various ceiling lights. There will be a small barebones kitchen, a double bed, a tall dresser, a shower, a toilet, & a sink-- no internal walls- just half-walls or dividers. I'm thinking the kitchen would be the first stop near the entry door because that's where groceries would be set when brought in & bathroom would be on the other side of the bedroom against an exterior wall. I'd have some pillows or yoga balls or something for seating.
