Where do orphans go?

have you looked in the orphan page on the computer?? she maybe there, but I think she looses all family ties, she wont remember her sister. or her sister her. it's very sad. I wish EA would address this sad issue.

I'm pretty sure the vanilla game just deletes them. I could be wrong though bc I've never had it happen to me, but that's what I've read. If they show up for adoption it's probably MCCC.

Yup there is no adoption pool, kids taken in by social services are just gone. Forever.

I was worried this would happen but didn’t want to test it out, had a similar problem to OP, but once one parent died I quickly moved the child sim with his YA sister and her family. That’s unfortunate, wish they’d be sent to the next of kin.

This happened to a non-played household in my game yesterday. I have MCCC installed and it notified me that the twins who had lost their parent were adopted and transferred to another household.

This happened to me once. But it is a pity that you don't get an option to keep the kid in your game. Just a pop-up window asking you if you'd like to move the kid to another household would suffice.
It never happened (as far as I can remember) to an active household in my game but I wonder what happens then. Say for example you are playing a single mother with her kid and she dies because she didn't clean the lint tray from the dryer. What happens to that kid? Do they just disappear and you get send into the world map?

Oh nooo that is so sad. Come on EA this needs sorting. imagine your playing a legacy family and your down to the last heir, and they go missing into another dimension. That's unacceptable.

That's the ones that are taken, not the orphans. I'm pretty sure that orphans are adopted by another household even in the vanilla game.

Children who are taken by social services aren't adopted, but you should be able to find them in their own "not in world" household in manage households. I think somebody who doesn't use MCCC confirmed that, I'd just tested it out with "adopt neglected child" disabled.

Go to manage households in the game since you're looking for your Sim/s who has been orphaned, You will see played and unplayed households as your options. Choose unplayed households and look for your orphan/s there. I recently learned I could do this
