I saw an old thread that's been necro'd, but I still wanted to talk about Sims' proposals, so I thought I'd start a new thread. Do you take your sims to certain locales to get beautiful pictures? Or are most of your proposals in their underwear in the middle of the night? (mine are, lol). She'd run away from home to get away from her tyrannical father. Eventually Clara worked up the nerve to divorce her husband Mario. She got married immediately after that to another sim, Krishna. That marriage lasted about a week, during which time Rebeka convinced her mother to let Kayaan come live with them. He was a homeless veteran who'd helped keep Clara's daughter safe while she couldn't, so it was the least they could do. Turned out there was chemistry between Clara and Kayaan. It turned out all right for Krishna because he realized he was gay when he met Caleb Vatore who he's now happily married to.

I'm more a "wherever they are" kind of person. 4 am in the bathroom? Sure! Out on a nice hike in OR? Yup! All over the place lol.

@WildIrishBanshee I am generally the same myself, but I've seen some shots of people's proposals recently and I realized there were opportunities in game I've been missing out on, so I'm trying to get creative and romantic with sims proposals now.

Often on vacations or having dinner together at one of my couples homes often after a vacation and they get back home. They get engaged and move into together into which ever home can be expanded the best. Then plan a wedding often in the back yard a few days latter.

no where since as a player of the sim and since its also do not fit my gameplay style I do not relly see the point of romance in the game sims can easly live toghter raise a family with out the need for romance or wedding in the game in my honest opinion

@friendlysimmers I have a few families that live like that as well. Mostly they were single parents who teamed up to raise their kids in a family environment. Thanks for sharing your opinion. :)

Love those Strangerville engagements!

In my latest playthrough I had a family of tourists at the campground near Old Penelope. They waited the crisis out in the shelter and soon as it was save to get out again I did this:

It was a full 8 sims household, my family are the four to the far right. The two that get engaged are townies that I grabbed off the streets because I had space for three more in the shelter.

Never have. If Discover University has graduation ceremonies I’d love to do it right afterwards. I guess we’ll see.

They propose (and get married) whereever they are at the moment. More often than not, that means the bathroom or kitchen. Never had a proper wedding in TS4 (hardly ever in the previous games either).

The Stargazer Lounge in San Myusho. The Sim doing the proposing takes them for a little swim, then a drink, then a bit of karaoke...you know, get them in a happy mood...and then pop the question. Great views from up there as well.

I let them propose wherever they are at the time, usually at home. Some sims elope and some marry at formal venues. It just depends on the sim and the situation. Even when they elope, I'll usually send them out somewhere scenic unless they are really nonchalant about it.

If they have a lot of family or friends or aren't major homebodies then they have formal weddings. I'll dress them up and do the make up for any ladies. I make sure the formalwear is appropriate for a wedding.

I think a few have proposed at restaurants but it's nearly always done in some private corner. I don't think I've ever had them propose in front of a group.

Sims can have religious or non-religious weddings. The art museum in Willow Creek was basically converted into a repeat wedding venue and is configured for that. Many sims opt to marry on its balcony in front of family and friends but there are other options too.

usually at home, but can be whenever. tbh it's mostly when their romance is high enough.

I like to mix it up and try different things that suits the couple. It isn’t often I have proposals or have weddings in my game, so I like to do something extra.

For me, it definitely depends on the couple, and the situation.

My hopeless romantic sims will likely have something fancy (maybe on a romantic vacation, by a crackling fire on a quiet New Year's Eve, if I remember where they first met I might do that too).

For example, one of my favorite couples were both outdoorsy, so I felt it necessary to have a camping trip proposal.

I really like the docks in Brindleton Bay for engagement photoshoots, so if I'm playing in that neighborhood (or even if I'm not) I might do that.

Sometimes, if they're more spontaneous and like to party, I'll have them propose at a bar or nightclub.

I've also had the "founding generation of a legacy challenge" proposal where they were broke, living in a tiny square shack, and looking to get hitched ASAP with no big ceremony at all. That's usually just a "middle of the living room in their underwear" type of proposal.
