Where Is the Best Place to Store All of Those Collected Upgrade parts?

My Sim has gone overboard on collecting upgrade parts. He's a rather frugal Sim and although he can easily afford to have broken sinks, toilets, etc. repaired professionally, he does the work himself....

You can just drag it to their portrait? Gosh, I'm learning something new about this game almost every day. LOL
