With Get Famous just around the corner, it's time we ask the obvious question "Hey EA...where are our newspapers? Where do we get the juicy gossip on the miserable lifestyles of the rich and famous?" Do we want everything to be delivered news wise to us via the internet? No. Do we want to only hear so and so has died by logging onto our computers and reading a poorly written obituary? No. Do we want to waste hours of our sims lives by making them search for the Tea online in a caffeine fuelled haze? No, but that would be hilarious. Do we want scandal and news of a neighbour giving birth to be handed to us via purchasable paper based items? YES! Where are our newspapers? Along with that, WHY should we be given them? Answer below as to why we should have them and if so, how EA can make them more worthwhile by adding some sims 4 flare! Have a good evening, Simmers. See yah all later!

As they seem to be pushing things more and more 'modern' I don't think such things would be coming back. If they are then they'd be non-interactable props and nothing more.

As they seem to be pushing things more and more 'modern' I don't think such things would be coming back. If they are then they'd be non-interactable props and nothing more.

Which is annoying for a game with a "You Rule" tag not everyone wants to play a modern world. Play through generations what changes nothing because Sims are born with cell phones no landlines no way to not even have a phone.

The main reason I wouldn't want it is the new NPC it would generate to deliver it... that's like the last NPC I could possibly want back. I'd rather have a burglar or fireman and even then well .. it depends on how they are done.
As a different possibility though.. I think it would be pretty nice to order magazines ect through the mail. Maybe even add those self service newspaper stands for us to put on community lots if we wanted too... sims could pick them up while out. If we got extra in build buy like readable magazines we could put them in our stores also.

I think Sims should have to pay for their internet apart from house bills. No one gets a pc then magically connects to their job, the web, and or Sim Nation. If they want to be modern then make them pay for that broadband or dialup. And they should be running around freaking out 'there's no internet'!. Super markets still sell tabloids, and I would like to see them return in TS4. And as much as Maxis wants to believe everyone has a computer and doesn't read the paper (our local gossip and current issues can't be found on the web) and has the internet just isn't true. Let me see you get a signal up in the holler over there, not going to happen. :D Better hope you got your copy of the weekly paper, or you won't know much of what is happening here. Let's all admit, not everyone wants to be 'connected'. Old folks will die out, but until then give them their paper and their tabloids and their TV Guide. And stop making them feel like a pc is the greatest invention ever, because it's not.

It makes you tell their stories instead of your own. (If your Sim gets a job in this game they have to have a pc).

If you mean throwing it somewhere into the garden I agree, that’s a nuisance. But dropping it into the mailbox would be a nice idea. That’s how both newspapers and magazines are delivered here anyway, it would get messy otherwise :D

I think the fact it’s easier to implement will have something to do with it as well (after all they could have at least added a delivery system to the electronic way and they haven’t). Click on the computer and it magically appears into your household. The delivery boy/girl animations or buying in a store takes more time of course. Point is, it also adds to immersion for many people, it’s not time wasted.
