Where to Find a Dozen White Eggs?

I have had Cottage Living since it was released, but unfortunately, the Sims I chose to live there just don't have time in their schedules to run errands for their neighbors. However, I have decided that's not as much of a problem in my ancestral game save. I have two of the families living in Windenburg, but the eldest son from Household A, who is newly engaged to the eldest daughter of Household B, has graduated early and isn't inclined to go to college (following the actual timeline for them). So, he's got lots of time to help around the farmstead and since he was always one to give service he's taken on a couple of Errands. Sadly, he still has to come up with a dozen white eggs for the Store Keeper. The only egg in his father's coop was hatchable. Face/palm. Is there another way to procure eggs? I know that Carl's guide suggests purchasing them, but it's the storekeeper who needs the eggs. I haven't yet placed him into his own household, else I'd let him fill his coop to capacity of hens! (Or is this how one fulfills this Errand?)

Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. Please, and thank you, in advance.

I think you could try ordering them online, when you shop for groceries, there are also eggs.

I must have missed them! Thanks I'll see if I can have John do that, now. (We'll just forget that he lived in the 18th century and they didn't have much by way of things technical. ) LOL

ETA: Nope, no eggs for purchase. I tried both the phone and the computer (even though it looks like a book in my game). Mushroom; pomegranate; potato, all kinds of seeds, but no eggs. Ho-hum. Thanks for the suggestion.

ETA, again: I missed the word groceries. Yes, he was able to order them to be delivered. Yay!

1st get a chicken coop, a few white Hens & white Roosters.
Then after about a sim day or two, under regular white Hens & there will be a dozen white eggs.
    (Warning: DON'T get any Golden or Evil Hens & Roosters o:) >:) :D )

We have Golden hens available? Never seen them, just white, brown or black. I would love a golden hen, they are beautiful. But, I had John order the eggs. Made the mistake first time around, of not unpacking the bag. He tried to give it over to the shopkeeper, but alas the interaction was grayed out, due to lack of a dozen eggs. :open_mouth: Took him home immediately to try again. This time I had him unpack the bag and place the twelve eggs into his inventory. Phew! Success was mine, or actually John's. LOL Thank you for all of the tips and hints. I'm having fun doing these errands. I'm trying to pass the time until John's wedding. This is an alternative save, because I'm waiting for the Infants to drop and while I have my Main save set to aging off, it's sadly growing repetitive on me. It's time for the first three kids to start aging up. But, not until the next baby gets here. I want to keep the birth order intact.

doesn't the grocer stand still sell them?? Even if they are the one asking for them?

It's that grocer who wants and needs the dozen white eggs! I don't quite see how that would work. But, thank you!

I'm going to have to try this out now

I went with the delivery thing. It worked. Just make certain your Sim unpacks the grocery bag right away and places the eggs into their inventory, that way they'll have them to turn in to the Shopkeeper.
  • My hens are better at egg production if there are no roosters around. Once the males are introduced, you will end up with more unusable eggs than usable ones. The eggs have been fertilized and are meant to be hatched so you can sell the chicks.

    That is good to know.
