For me it was Get Together, Get Famous, Seasons, and Toddlers.
Get Together: When this was announced I thought the clubs were the dumbest thing since the Katy Perry pack in TS3. Boy was I wrong. This quickly became my absolute favorite pack that I can't do without. The club system helps me create neighborhood groups, childhood friends, and everything else. It lets me have groups of Fae that meet in the ruins, groups of friends that follow my sims through life (even annoying older siblings), groups that are at war with each other, and so much more. I don't think I could play the game without the club system.
Get Famous: I was dreading this pack. I'm not typically into famous sims or the celebrity lifestyle. After TS3 I was not that into this pack at all. Then I messed with it and wow. It's better than Superstar from TS1, it's fleshed out - you have options to pick perks and how fame effects your sims, and you don't necessarily have to go into movies. It's really, really good. When I first got it it was because I need things to be complete and I kinda wanted the sharks and the scrooge McDuck vault.
Seasons: I love seasons, I've always loved seasons. The thing that surprised me here was the holiday system. I thought it would be kind of dumb but helpful for declaring holidays to be a thing. It revolutionized game play and made it so that holidays matter, that there are points of the year I look forward too more than my sims, and so that I can create a full culture for my sims to exist in. This was an amazing addition.
Toddlers: In TS2 and TS3 this life stage was one I found mostly annoying. I sought out content that made it where I could ignore them after quickly getting through what they needed to grow up well. I was about as fond of this life stage as I was Mr. Humble. When they were added this time they were...cute. Like *REALLY* cute and not annoying. They actually act like little sims instead of balls of annoyance you need to put up with.
